Bridges for Peace is honored to invite you to enroll in the Institute of Israel Studies 2021. Join us for a combination of curriculum—presented by a lineup of Bridges for Peace senior leaders and prominent Israeli role players in the political, religious, defense, societal, advocacy, and historical landscape—and guided visits to sites of biblical significance. The discussions and guided visits have been tailor-made to ensure that every person who completes this program will leave Israel with in-depth knowledge, understanding, and hands-on experience of the Land of Israel and its role in history, prophecy, and the future.

We extend this invitation with confidence that the exposure gained through the two-week program will place your finger firmly on the pulse of Israel, a country and people chosen by God to fulfill His purposes and promises and reveal His character to the nations.

Through the Institute of Israel Studies you will:

  • Learn how to talk about Israel and the Middle East confidently
  • Travel to HaGoshrim Resort in northern Israel
  • Hear about Jewish family values, Israel’s geographical history and the Ten Lost Tribes
  • Find out how to connect with the Church, younger generations and the Jewish people
  • Visit a farm in Judea and enjoy a Jewish worship experience
  • Gain understanding about the Palestinian propaganda and life under Hamas
  • Relate to the Torah (Gen.—Deut.) in a new way

Through the program, you’ll meet and interact with Bridges for Peace leadership, learn from Israeli experts concerning current issues, and interact with Israelis in a variety of venues.

IIS Dates: “Open Air”
Depart USA: Saturday, May 22

Arrive in Israel on Sunday, May 23: You’ll need to arrange for a ride from the airport by taxi or sherut to the Ramat Rachel Hotel in Jerusalem, allowing sufficient time for travel and check-in. Then join up with participants from around the world for registration and dinner at 7:00 p.m., followed by the evening’s Orientation that begins at 8:00 p.m.

– Departures: Option to depart late Thursday night, June 3/Friday, June 4 morning around 1 a.m. or check out of the hotel on Friday, June 4 by 11 a.m., have some free time until sometime late afternoon or evening, as flights are available with your carrier.

– Arrive USA: Friday, June 4, or Saturday, June 5 based on your departure preference.

Please note that all participants must arrive by Sunday, May 23, in time for dinner at 7:00 p.m. Orientation begins at 8:00 p.m. Departures should be scheduled for Friday, June 4. Checkout time at the Hotel is 11:00 a.m.

We are able to assist you should accommodations be required prior to May 23 and/or after June 4. We are, however, limited by the availability of rooms at the hotel. No pre-arrivals/ extensions are included. Additional cost details will be provided on request.

Bridges for Peace Institute for Israel Studies

BFP-IIS-1500 [9 credits]
May 23 – June 3, 2021

The Institute of Israel Studies will, amongst other things:

  • Provide insights into a society that is being gathered into its ancestral homeland after a 2,000-year sojourn in a very diverse Diaspora—in fulfillment of God’s promises spoken through the biblical prophets.
  • Explain the multitude of singular security, regional, and other challenges Israel faces and how the country is singled out as a unique entity within the community of nations.
  • Explore prophetic scriptures and their relevance in the modern re-establishment of Israel and the gathering of her people.
  • Connect delegates with Israeli society through a diverse lineup of speakers and experiences.
  • Provide insight into the unique role Bridges for Peace plays through its education initiatives and projects that portray God’s love and mercy to the people of Israel.

-> MASTERS International University of Divinity – Receive Accreditation for IIS and Seminar Extension

After the Institute there is an option to attend a Masters International University of Divinity Seminar course. A student of MIUD can earn through this Institute of Israel Studies (9 credits) and the follow-on course (3 credits) for a total of 12 credits. Further details on this course are provided below. The hotel cost for the MIUD extension from June 4 – 5 is $145 per person for a shared double room. The single supplement is an additional $110. It will include 3 nights (June 3, 4, 5), breakfast and dinner, and the meeting room. The course will be held on Friday, June 4.

The Fundamentals of Christian Zionism (course extension)

Course Purpose:
To provide the student with a sound biblical and historical foundation for the Zionist movement in general and Christian Zionism in particular; helping the student understand the place and importance of Christian Zionism in the overall scope of Jewish Christian relations.

Course Objectives:

1. Lead the student to a firm understanding of Zionism’s biblical foundations and place in the history of Israel, the Jewish people and the church.
2. Familiarize the student with the importance of correct exegesis and the impact Christian Zionism has had on biblical interpretation.
3. Familiarize the student with the sensitivities that exist between the Jewish community and Christian Zionism and the difficulties to be encountered in attempting to bridge the gap between the two.
4. Provide the student with the necessary tools to advocate for a Christian Zionist position.

The course will be accomplished in an intensive seminar. Pre-seminar assignments are required, but there are no post-seminar requirements. All course requirements are completed at the close of the seminar event. The following schedule includes intensive instruction times by the professor, and group interaction throughout the event.

Audit Students:  The course may be taken by attending the entire day for audit only without any pre-seminar requirements.  It may be possible for audit students to receive credit by enrolling in the course, and completing the pre-seminar assignments, providing the student enrolls not less than six months following the seminar.
